Transmissions

In my current work series Transmissions, I deal with the immaterial phenomena of our time: the invisible flow of data, the power of artificial intelligence and the increasing dissolution of reality and simulation. The ghostly figures that populate my pictorial spaces appear as fluid forms between presence and dissolution - symbols of a fragmented world in which identity, perception and truth are constantly being renegotiated. Inspired by the “spirit photography” of the 19th century, I draw parallels between the technical upheavals of that time and today's questions about the credibility of digitally generated images. Despite the thematic proximity to digital aesthetics, my images are not created digitally, but through distorted reflections on the surface of a pool of water - an analog process that deliberately breaks the illusion. Transmissions sees itself as a painterly contribution to a critical examination of digital realities.
